FGMSA – JHPIEGO PROSPECTS

As part of the federation’s strategy to achieve its set goals, FGMSA is currently pursuing a working professional relationship with JHPIEGO Ghana (John Hopkins Program for International Education in Gynaecology and Obstetrics), an international non-profit health organization affiliated to John Hopkins University.

JHPIEGO has a core mission of improving the health of women and families in developing countries. The NGO works with community leaders, health experts and governments to provide high quality health care for their people. The NGO is noted for designing innovative, effective and low-cost health care solutions to ensure a level of care for women and their families.

The meeting with the JHPIEGO Country Director, Karen Caldwell, took place at her Office in Accra. The country director acknowledged the federation and further highlighted the fact that the goals of the Federation were in sync with JHPIEGO’s goals. She expressed profound interest in partnering the Federation in prospects of Reproductive Health and AIDS, Human Rights and Peace and Medical Education.

The Country Director commended the Federation’s impact in recent times and also hoped to honour subsequent invitations of her outfit to FGMSA events as well as establish a lasting professional working relationship with the Federation.

The meeting was attended by Emmanuel Ayerh Quarshie, the national officer for the committee on Medical Education.
