

The annual MSA games and socialization of the medical students association of KNUST organized by the sports and entertainment committee of the association was held on the 18th of March 2023 this year at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium. The event brings together students from different year groups to participate in various sports activities. The event aims to promote physical fitness and healthy competition among students. It also provides an opportunity for students to socialize and build relationship outside of the classroom as spelt out in the opening remarks by the President of the association –Mr. Reuben Obour Danquah. He also entreated all students to comport themselves and adhere to all rules and regulations.

The games included; men and women football, Females penalty shootout, athletics, snooker, Sack race, table Tennis, Volley ball, lime and spoon. Indeed it was a joyous day.


The men football fixtures were as follows;
Group A
HB3 VS HB2
MB2 VS HB2
Group B
MB1 VS HB1
MB3 VS MB1
After a thorough competition at the group stages from the various classes; MB2 AND HB3 Progressed to the semi-finals with MB2 topping the group (Group A), HB2 exited the competition in the group stage.
Also, MB3 and HB1 progressed to the semi- finals from group B with MB3 topping the group; MB1 exited the competition at the group stage.
In the semi-finals; HB3 beat MB3 to qualify for the finals after a penalty shoot-out. Also, HB1 beat MB2 the defending champions to progress to the finals after a grueling penalty shoot-out.
In the Finals; HB3 beat HB1 by two goals to lift the coveted MSA football competition trophy and were named the best team in MSA.
The Clinical year females also battled with the Pre-clinical year females in football with the pre-clinical year females wining with a goal down to nil against the clinical year females.

Miss Awusi Bansah , who was in the goal post for the class of 2026 did not concede a single goal in the women’s football penalty shootout.

Also, Adegloh Derrick Selorm; a member of the class of 2027 (HB2) also emerged as the winner of the men’s 100m race.

MB3 won the overall competition and HB3 emerged as the champion of the male football tournament. The President of the association presented the trophy to the HB3 class.



The presentation of medal awards was done by the Vice President of the Association –Mr. Samuel Kwabena Boafo.
It was indeed full of fun and excitement.
