MSA-UHAS AKWAABA WEEK

MSA-UHAS AKWAABA WEEK

This year’s edition of the annual welcome week of the UHAS-MSA was marked by committee orientation, a bash and games. The committee orientation which took place on the 9th February brought the freshmen up to speed with the various standing committees and internal committees of the MSA by Afari Nana Bekoe Junior, the UHAS-MSA President, Hubert Amponsah Junior, the Vice President, and Timothy Binlinla, the Health Officer.

On Friday, 10th February, was the Akwaaba bash. The continuing students of the association made their presence quite known as they dominated most of the activities. The activities included table tennis, pool, card games, four-in-a-row and other board games, musical chairs, dance offs, among others; they really did seize the opportunity to release some tension. Students from other programmes also represented and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There was much to eat and drink; free ones from the association and others from vendors. It certainly was a wonderful night and one definitely not to miss!

‘Show-working’ Saturday, the justification of the brags and rants, proof of the best, clamour for the trophy, medals and the teasing right, having the football tournament as the focus. The Amigos of level 500 crushed the Ferocious Savages of level 600 and the Invincibles of level 100 to qualify to the finals. Dreams FC of level 200 also took a winning streak over the  reigning champions, the Ideas FC of 400 and the Comrades of 300 into the finals. Unfortunately, Dreams could not come true as the Amigos asserted their dominance with a 5:0 win.

The Amigos really did the grounds work to back their few words, Congrats!
